We took a little ride last weekend….
Pedals & Rails in the Bluegrass
Just 15 miles west of Lexington, Versailles, Kentucky invites adventurers onto a one‑of‑a‑kind railside journey. At Rail Explorers Bluegrass, pedal‑powered rail‑bikes glide along the historic 1888 Louisville Southern Railroad to a scenic overlook above the Kentucky River. In this 10‑mile round‑trip, riders chart a path through golden horse farms, limestone cliffs, until reaching Young’s High Bridge, soaring 283 feet high!
Experience at a Glance
• Choose between tandem (2‑person) or quad (4‑person) electric‑assist rail‑bikes—easy to pedal, even for kids and seniors .
• Tour takes approximately 2 hours, with a short rest at the river gorge to soak in the views and let guides rotate the bikes for return.
Why Ride Here?
Gentle terrain and electric assist mean pedaling is low‑effort, leaving riders free to look out over breathtaking Bluegrass landscapes and historic landmarks. It’s a perfect blend of active fun and peaceful scenery—ideal for families, couples, or multi‑generational outings.
